Malawi national football team, The Flames have finished their Africa Cup of Nations preparation campaign with a draw against Black Stars of Ghana on Tuesday in Swaziland.
Flames Coach Kinnah Phiri said despite a draw their preparations have been successful with their unbeaten run against local club in Malawi, Mozambique, Egypt and Ghana.
Phiri said: “We started our preparations for this tournament on December 2 and had only the local players, where we played a friendly match against a local side. We were joined by the professionals on December 20 for five days before we went to Egypt for a friendly and managed a 1-1 draw. We also played Mozambique and won 1-0 and drew 0-0 with Ghana in our last preparatory game is the icing on top of the cake,”he told Ghanaweb.com.

Malawi featured the same team which drew with Egypt but there was only change in goals where Simplex Nthara took a role of injured Swadick Sanudi and was in an inspired form.
Last month news spread across the media that Ghana was advised not play with Malawi as it will be just wastage of time. But, this draw has shown that Malawi are really a good team which can produce some suprises in Angola.
They beat Egypt, DRC, Guinea and drew one all with Ivory Coast in 2010 World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Malawi will land in Angola on Thursday and will be the first Southern African nation to arrive ahead of the opening ceremony of the 2010 Orange Africa Cup of Nations.
They will be followed by Mozambique who will arrive Friday, January 8 from South Africa after wrapping up their training camp in Bloemfontein.
At exactly 13:35 hrs Zambia will be landing in Luanda from Johannesburg on Sunday, January 10.
