Press release By Angola Gvt Over terrorist attack against the national team of Togo

"Your Excellency the Prime Minister of the Republic of Angola and Coordinator of the Ministerial Monitoring Committee of the COCAN (Organizing Committee of the CAN 2010), Engineer Paulo Kassoma, received today in a session in Cidade Alta, the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Mr. Issa Hayatou, where he provided information about the Orange Africa Cup of Nations – Angola 2010, which is running smoothly.

The Prime Minister informed Issa Hayatou in private about yesterday’s occurrence in Cabinda, where the national team of Togo was attacked by terrorists. However, Kassoma ensured that all safety conditions for the tournament are created.

The Chief of the Government of Angola considered the event in Cabinda as an isolated event, and stressed that the safety of Togo and of the other teams is ensured as well as the medical support to the victims.

Paulo Kassoma tranquilized the President of the CAF, informing that the Government is providing total support and sympathy to the entire Togolese Delegation."
