Four journalist who were sponsored by Ilovo Sugar Company are expected to leave for Angola on Thursday to cover the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations tournament which starts on Sunday, January 10 in Luanda.
They will spend one night in Johannesburg before flying out for Angola the following day.
The four journalists namely, Chisomo Mwamadi of Televison Malawi, Garry Chirwa of National Publications Limited, Peter Fote of Malawi Broadcasting Corporation and Danken Mulanjira of Blantyre News Limited are the beneficiaries of the sponsorship.
Ilovo sugar Marketing Manager, Rhyms Davies said they decided to sponsor journalists in order to eneable Malawians to get full and up to date coverage of the Africa Cup of Nations games.
"It is important for us to sponsor these media houses inorder to enable Malawians to get full and up to date coverage of the tournament." Davies told the local public television, Tvm.
Sponsorship is limited for the air tickets only and journalists are advised to serve themselves in Angola.
